  • The Zvid dashboard (e.g. https://dash.zvid.io)
  • The Zvid API (e.g. https://api.zvid.io)

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information to operate the Service, render videos from JSON payloads, and improve performance and reliability.

1.1. Account & Contact Information

When you create an account or contact us, we may collect:

  • First name and last name
  • Email address
  • Password (stored in a hashed form)

In addition, we may collect other information you choose to provide that helps us understand our users, improve our services, and support marketing, analytics, and business development efforts.

1.2. Usage & API Data

When you interact with the Zvid API or dashboard we may collect:

  • API requests and responses metadata (timestamps, endpoint paths, HTTP status codes)
  • API keys and associated usage (e.g., number of calls, rate-limit status)
  • Job information (job IDs, project configuration metadata, resolution presets, duration)

We do not inspect the semantic content of your JSON project payloads for purposes unrelated to providing and securing the Service, except as needed for:

  • Debugging a job you ask us to investigate
  • Abuse and security monitoring
  • Aggregated analytics that do not identify you personally

1.3. Project & Media Content

To render your videos, you send us JSON configurations and references to media assets such as:

  • Visual elements (TEXT, IMAGE, VIDEO, GIF, SVG)
  • Audio elements (voice-overs, music, sound effects)
  • Subtitle and caption data
  • Position/resize/anchor properties, resolution presets, and animation details

During rendering, we may download media from the links you provide in your JSON in order to process the job. These downloaded files are used only for rendering and are removed from our systems after the render completes.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to all media you provide.

1.4. Device & Technical Information

When you use the dashboard, we may automatically collect:

  • IP address
  • Browser type and settings
  • Operating system and device information
  • Referring/exit pages and timestamps

We use this data to secure the Service, prevent abuse, and understand how the dashboard is used.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide the Service

  • Render videos based on your JSON project payloads
  • Manage your API keys and authentication
  • Track job status, progress, and errors
  • Deliver rendered outputs and metadata

Operate & Improve

  • Monitor performance, resource usage, and rendering times
  • Improve rendering quality, stability, and formats
  • Develop new features (presets, effects, APIs)

Security & Abuse Prevention

  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents
  • Enforce our Terms of Service and acceptable use

Support & Communication

  • Respond to support tickets and feature requests
  • Send important service-related notifications (incidents, changes, policy updates)
  • Send product updates or marketing messages

3. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as necessary to:

  • Provide the Service to you
  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Resolve disputes
  • Enforce our agreements and policies

Examples include:

  • Logs and API usage kept for a limited period for security and diagnostics.
  • Downloaded media used for rendering is removed from our systems after the render completes.

The Service is not directed to children under 13, We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.
