Manual Trigger Schedule Trigger Edit Fields (Set) Code Rss Feed Read HTTP Request Zvid If Wait

Create weekly RSS news roundup videos with Zvid, ElevenLabs and OpenRouter

Turn recent headlines from your RSS feeds into a narrated vertical news roundup. OpenRouter selects and scripts the stories, ElevenLabs supplies timed narration, and Zvid renders the video for editorial review.

Copy, then paste directly onto your n8n canvas (Ctrl/Cmd + V) — or import the downloaded file via Workflow menu → Import from file.

How it works

Tutorial and resources

  1. Run manually or on the weekly Friday schedule. Read the configured RSS feeds, then pool, deduplicate and filter recent headlines.
  2. Use OpenRouter to select up to five stories and write the narration. Check the original sources before publishing the result.
  3. Generate speech and timing data with ElevenLabs, upload the audio to Zvid, and select illustrative stock footage.
  4. Build and validate the vertical video with source labels and timed captions. dryRun: true saves an editor draft and quote; upstream AI and speech services can still charge.
  5. With dryRun: false, render, poll for completion, then open Watch video → Binary → data → View. Download and review the MP4 before sharing; this template does not publish to social accounts.

Set up steps

  1. Install @zvid/n8n-nodes-zvid from Settings → Community nodes before configuring Zvid credentials. A workspace owner/admin may need to install it.
  2. Import the workflow JSON from this page and keep the schedule inactive while setting it up.
  3. Create a Zvid API credential using a key from app.zvid.io/api-keys and Base URL https://api.zvid.io. Select it on every Zvid node.
  4. Create an OpenRouter credential for the writing step and an ElevenLabs Header Auth credential named xi-api-key for the voiceover step. Configure your RSS feeds, brand and voice in Config. Use the same Zvid API credential on Upload voiceover. Multipart upload uses HTTP Request because the published Zvid node does not expose file uploads; supported Zvid operations use the Zvid node. Check the schedule and workflow timezone before activation.
  5. The download ships with dryRun: false, so a full execution renders and spends Zvid credits. Use dryRun: true for an editor draft and quote. OpenRouter and ElevenLabs can still charge during this preview path.
  6. Test one item, review the result, then check the trigger and workflow timezone before activating the schedule. Follow the complete blog tutorial for screenshots, sample inputs, limitations and troubleshooting.
